I think Bert was parading that around at one time stating how important it was to get chromoly pushrods over hardened because there was a "BANG ZOOM" hp gain to be had. The thing is it all depends on the control events of your valvetrain. If pushrods are experiencing significant deflection then using a more stout pushrod will result in a more controlled environment yielding more precise valve events which may end up with a decent gain of power. It's like the promise of gain you read about going to a roller rocker. What promises like that don't tell you is that gain is loosely based on going from a stamped rocker to a roller fulcrum which reduces friction and parasitic loss which then may result in a possible substantial gain.

Thank you for the reply. I somehow found it hard to believe at stock pushrods could flex in engine wich dont rev over 6000 at all.

Could i get same results with just upgrading comps roller tip rockers ( 1.52 ) ?

Or should i invest same time for better push rods? Its been a while since i have been shopping push rods , over 90 bucks a set.

I would just invest in the whole thing..you will have it apart so it might save you time down the road

I believe it. If you have ever heard of the valley gussets that they make, some of the engine builders that use them say that they have picked up as much as 50hp just by making the block stiffer.

Could be urban legand, but makes sense in theory IMO
