I still need to adjust it. I hate the alignment of my whole front end. Oem bumper is needed asap. My battery is hitting my hood as well

It's shiny tho

Edit: my ss hood is 11 lbs heavier than the stock hood.

^Agreed. The other ZR1 black wheels with the polished lip "pop" more on a darker colored car like yours (I have the same wheels ) All black just blends the tires/wheels/wheel wells too much IMHO. All black wheels are very trendy for new cars though; I'm not sure why though

I love everything about this car. I tell you man, if you are getting bored with it how does a procharger sound to liven things up. Also i wished you lived near me I'd ask you to do my 02' ss that i did a lt1 front end conversion on. That car body needs some serious tlc. Anyways nice work man, i love this thread.

Thanks everyone!

The biggest thing about going with boost is my motor isn't set up for low compression. And then it's basically how bulletproof can you make it with the money I have. :/

Then how long is my current shortblock going to sit before it sells.

I want to go boost one day too. Sooner, rather then later. Front mount turbo to be exact. My engines not set up perfectly for boost either, but it doesnt matter. Just run low boost until you build up the other short block for it. While your doing that you post your current short block for sale and just wait. If the price is right. There will be plenty of people biting for a solid lt1 shortblock.

What is your shortblock consist of? You have my attention...

Im assuming id have to change my cam? I could throw stock heads on to drop the compression some since my heads are milled.

Or you could swap on some thicker head gaskets to lower it. That kills your quench, but the boost would make up for any loss I'm sure.

I picked up the dash and center counsel from Dennis today.

There is still tons I need.

Headlight switch
Fog light switch (for the fogs I don't have)
Rear defrost (for the rear defrost I don't use)
Center counsel arm rest
Shift boot and ring (will my LT1 one fit?)
1997 specific cluster

I also need the complete wiring for the dash/cluster as well. Dennis said it should be at his buddys house and will check this weekend. Hopefully its there or I think that ill be on a wild goose chase.

As for the dash pad.... Not sure what way I want to go with this as I know ill be spending over $200 either way.
Ebay has these....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-2002-Chevrolet-Camaro-Pontiac-Firebird-Full-Dashboard-Replacement/261534891344?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D24902%26meid%3D35b514529e97433481001cc0edf1e505%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D10502%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D251616132958
Downside, its $300!!!!!!! Also, I have heard the fitment is great but the texture is pretty rough.
Upside, It should NEVER crack. Well, never say never but abs isn't crap plastic like the stockers.

Basically thats where I'm at.

Awesome progress man. I've had my LT1 since I was 18 I have been flip flopping on selling it for an LS1 over the years and this summer I made the decision to keep it and put everything I want into this shell, just keeping the LT1 motor.. I'm swapping an ebony LS1 interior, body and engine harness pcm and 24x swap. Should be fun.. I should make a thread like this. Thanks for the motivation to keep the LT1 car.

Looks great man. I know you keep saying that you like working on it more than driving it, maybe you should start doing mods that make it more fun to drive than whatever you are currently driving? Like put in some nice speakers, button up any rattles, get some comfortable seats from a c6 vette or I dont know that just feel nice to sit in. I felt the same way as you, when I had it set up for street stock with the 9" and no interior and 4.33s with a spool, I lost all enjoyment of the car anywhere other than the track, and almost sold it. I ended up tearing apart the whole suspension and making it more fun on the street, but I still have a long way to go before its a comfortable road trip car again, and still performs well on the track. If you end up going FI or something radical with the motor and dont have it running PERFECT, you will still not have that enjoyment and comfort feeling of being able to just fire it up and go to the grocery store. I say get it running and driving PERFECT now, and see if you get some more enjoyment out of it.
