I'm running the LS7's in my 408 here..and they are working fine for me. I got them from GM for $100..that's what they were at the time I got them.

Why? I've ordered from them several times with no problems. Yeah, their shipping is a bit high, but it still usually comes out cheaper than most places.

Selling point for me was that an LS7 engine redline is 7K, if a stock lifter can handle that kind of STOCK redline for that price, they're worth getting. Plus if you have any part of "God's Motor" in your car, it's bound to be faster.

^ What he said. They're great and cheap, plus they are OEM to stand 7k. If you really need anymore than that I'd go for the Caddy lifters.

shipping is expensive and slow, took me like 3-4 weeks to get something last time I ordered something. summit has ls7 lifters in stock and only took like 2-3 days for it to be at my door

Stockers work FINE for most people.

My car had been maintained well and at 90k, the lifters showed zero signs of wear.

I asked Ron at AI about lifters and he said the factory GM part is hard to beat. If it looks good and seems to operate good, its probably good.

I say if your lifters pass a visual inspection and have been running fine, run them and waste money on something else. Especially considering the fact that these will also change pushrod geometry and require a different length pr if you want to correct it.
LS7 lifters ARE a factory GM part.

Who's frothing at the mouth? He asked about the LS7 lifters, and he got his answers. Not everyone can reuse their stockers. I had a couple collapse on me, so I changed them out for some LS7 lifters after my cam.

Don't get caught up uin the "high rpm capable" thing. The LS7 uses beehive springs and light valves. Those things probably do more for the rpm potential of this lifter than any redesigning done to them.

The guys that say they are a good lifter at a nice price have it right.

Lots of guys using original lifters with aggressive aftermarket cams.
