This is our largest stock long-block cam for auto cars. Lopey idle, good drivability, and excellent mid-range with peak power at approximately 6200rpm. Properly tuned w/ supporting modifications, M6's typically produce 345-360rwhp SAE corrected.
In my experiance this is a great cam quite appropriate for many stock shortblock applications.
Carbed intakes have longer runners, longer runners favor lower rpms that is why low rpm carbed manifolds are dual plane where the plenum is split and each side feeds to opposite side of the engine in order to make the runners longer. A very general rule runner cross section comes into play and such.
