Default 2 quick questions...

So, I got a leak on a coolant hose (the one right under the throttle body) and fixed it quick. So I went to replace the coolant that drained out (a lot of it) and long story short I over filled it (im retarded...i know) so I'm wondering what that can do? Doesn't it like create to much pressure and break more lines? Anyways what can I do to get the coolant levels lower if its a problem?

Also how good/bad are the power steering pumps on the LT1's? Are they hard to replace?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm learning/trying to learn everything I can. Thanks For all the help!

The only way you can "overfill" a cooling system is via the overflow bottle.

And no, its impossoble for that to "create pressure and break lines" since its not even part of the closed system during normal operation.

The overflow reservoir is above the seal of the radiator cap, and only exchanges coolant with the main system in the event the pressure goes higher than the cap is rated for.

What you need to do is pull the radiator cap (with the engine cold) and check the actual level in the radiator, and top it of if needed.

The worst that will happen from you overfilling the overflow is some coolant may end up on the ground at some point.

Remove the alternator first then it should be easy to access the power steering pump.

Your supposed to fill the radiator to the top, but nothing will happen if you over filled the "coolant reservoir", it will automatically come out when it gets hot.

Make sure to bleed the coolant system of air or the temp. gauge will bounce around and you'll have air pockets.

Keep them Bleeders open till a steady stream comes out them..it will sputter out of them for a few seconds till it goes solid, keep that in mind.
