Local 1/8mi track, but it was the last night of T/T this season and I just got my Prostars and QTP's.

Ran four times and ran exactly what I ran before including 60' times. I guess the good news is I'm not down on power, however figuring out the new gears and tire pressure is another project. By the time I had figured out tire pressure, launching RPM and shift points my clutch decided to go. With it slipping the best 60' was in the low 1.7's. I shifted into 2nd and the clutch was no longer there.
I can no longer say nice things about the Spec 3+. Probably opt for either RAM or a Street Twin...
The real bonus is I had never been there before. The shut down lanes are a nice off camber, downhill, left hand sweeper. This caught me by surprise, I slammed on the brakes and flat topped my front tires. It was great fun driving home w/ a slipping clutch and out-of-round tires.

Lies, your car is broken down in the garage and doesn't turn on!!!
looks like once you get the new combo figured out it should pick up nicely, especially once you get those short times down!

Thanks. I went having high hopes, but being out of practice and never running on this kind of tire along with the gears means I have a job to do. I just need a clutch to stand up to the abuse.
The moral of the story is anyone who believes the manufacture's claims regarding torque or power their clutch can hold.. it must mean how much it can hold on the street with street tires.

You should be able to get a lot more out of that if you play around with it. I started out running 110.5-111mph in my 2001 and it is now running 115.5 and is .45 quicker just from playing with the tune up. Same 60's before and after, still working on that lol. This is with only 3 visits to the track. 95mph is a real nice starting point.

Get a 2 step. As soon as I put on on and went to QTPs my 60s dropped to 1.68 from high 1.8s.
Its a totally different feel on the QTPs. My car still gets alittle squirly in 2nd. I picked up some drags shocks today so I hope they really help get the 60 down and plant the car better on the 1-2 shift.

How many miles on your SPEC 3+ clutch and do you have a rear main or other oil leak which could be contributing to the slippage? I only ask because I need a disc (I have a new Valeo LT4 pp) which can stand up to a 383 with occasional spray and had heard good things about the 3+.
Will RAM sell the hdx disc separately, I heard no, what disc will hold up and be dd friendly?

Thanks for the complements. Pictures can be very deceiving. It is in dire need of a paint job. The front and rear bumper covers are in need of a sand and repaint as well as blistered clear coat on the hood and drivers quarter panel.
This car is not daily driven so I may go w/ an iron disk. For higher power levels and good street manners the Street Twin is about the only option. From what I understand engagement feels like stock.
Looking at my last slip before last night the 1/4 ET was an 11.79 @ 120.8mph running the same 1/8mi time and mph, however that was with 26" ET Streets and 3.73 gears. This time I have 27" tires and 4.56 gears. I figured it'd be less stress on the driveline. Perhaps running the 3.73 gears for so long is what started the clutch's eminent doom?
Skinnies will come in due time. I'm glad I didn't have them on last night due to my dumbassery.

Brian,
Keep hanging in there
You could do alot of things, but I would recommend a street twin and seat time. It just takes practice to learn to launch the car hard. The first couple trips to the track with my SR 396 I was running 12.2-12.4's@ 119-120. After a few more trips and ZERO changes to the car (not even the tune), I was running 11.3's@126.
