Default Need some help...

I don't usually post anything since I am normally able to find what I'm looking for through searches, but I could not find what I needed today. I'm not sure how to explain this, but whenever I get on the gas really hard it seems as if I don't go anywhere. I thought it had something to do with my clutch hydraulics or clutch itself at first because I would notice it when I would shift to 2nd and 3rd at very fast takeoffs. Now I have noticed that it does not have to be during shift. I get the problem if I am just cruising in 2nd and get on it really hard. It almost feels as if I am slightly pushing in the clutch. The rpm's are high but I don't really go anywhere. It is not as though it is completely out of gear though since it does still go some.

I am not a mechanic and not great with cars, so excuse me if I am doing a horrible job of explaining.

All of this started after I did a transmission swap from an automatic to a manual. In the process, I purchased a brand new spec 2 clutch and an aluminum driveshaft that I installed during the change. It was a used transmission and I installed used hydraulics at first. I have now reaplaced the entire hydraulic assembly with one of the prebled units from GM, but I am still having the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New flywheel? It almost sounds like the clutch is slipping...it's something in the drivetrain.

ohhh... Forgot to add that. I installed a new aluminum flywheel with the change. I also installed an adjustable torque arm with a new tranny crossmember that relocates the mount to the crossmember.

If rpm goes up but the car doesn't accelerate, then the clutch is slipping.

Thank you for the quick responses. I guess I will have to pull the tranny back out again. It has a brand new clutch and throwout bearing on it though. What should I be looking for when pull the tranny?

Did you properly break in the new clutch?

My break in for Spec stage 3 and flywheel was 500-600 miles of all around driving. Never had a hiccup then or now.

Just FYI

Do you smell anything along of the lines like hot brakes?

I broke in the clutch for about 100-200 miles of light driving and started gradually getting on it harder for another 100 miles or so. I probably only have about 300-400 miles on it at this point.

I have not noticed any kind of unusual odors.
