what is wrong with my car

Well after running my car multiple times this year i cannot do any better then a 14.18 @ 97mph 2.0 60 foot. the car is a 94 z28 a4 3.23 gears , moroso cai (new filter) flowmaster muffler and all the free mods. I dont get what is wrong with the car runs good full complete tune up was done recent. I go on here and hear that i should be running atleast 13.9. The track i race at is maryland internation raceway i have no idea what the elevation is. My buddy has all the same mods as me on his a4 93 except for the fact that he has shorties he ran a 13.8 @ 102 with a shitty 2.2 60 foot. What could be wrong with my car?

You are right on par to where you should be, because aside from the CAI, you are stock. Free mods don't add as much as one might think. The Flowmaster muffler itself isn't doing you much good because the piping of the stock exhaust is the real restriction. Stock cars run anywhere from 13.8 to 14.5, so IMO, nothing's wrong.

I agree. Trap could be better, but cut a 1.90 and youre right there at a 13.9. Pretty normal for a stockish lt

the two things that bother me is that the car is a 2.73 car that hasnt been reprogrammed for the 3.23 so its shift points are late also when i bought the car the maf was descreened i heard that was bad could those two things be effecting performance

it could be hurting you, but times seem normal to me. i wouldnt sweat it. Just start modding

tune for the descreen maf and speedo adjustments for the gears coming soon then ill end the race season off with a new cat (factory one on the car) and a magnaflow catback. I'd love to see a 13.79
