Finally 10's pumpgas 383 LE3! all motor.
Well most of you guys know me and my car but here is a link to my old GMHTP article when the car had a 355" LT1, http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ure/index.html
Since then I built a new 383 Lt1, bought the rotating assembly from the forsale section and a stock high mileage, standard block to start with. I used the same LE3 heads and LE solid roller cam that was in my old 355" engine, flattop SRP pistons, Eagle h-beams, eagle forged crank, splayed mains same intake TB exhaust etc.. and put it together myself. I brought the car out to the track with some 29.5x10.5 slicks about 4weeks ago and ran 11.18@126mph spinning pretty bad and the big tires were rubbing in the fenders. So a friend gave me some old 28x10.5" M/T slicks to go try out the car again and see what this new combo would run on the motor before I turned the n2o on. So I went to SCR track last nite, kind of last minute and had some great runs.
First run off the footbrake the car ran:
1.54 60'
7.08@97mph 1/8th
11.07@125mph hit the limiter on 1-2 shift.
Then put my airpan on and left off the T-brake@4krpms
1.47 60'
6.90@99mph
10.82@127.8mph!!! WOW
Now this is only second time out with the new setup and will only get better from here. I have to thank Lloyd Elliott for giving me a great heads/cam setup that is making some real good HP.
Last pass it was getting late and the dew was starting to set in but I tried anyways.
1.54 60' spinning
6.98@98.6mph
10.91@126mph
The weather was pretty good, 175' above sealevel on the 10.82 pass according to a fellow racers weather station. Sometimes we get -1000' Da around late November- December so I plan on making it out with new tires in better weather to see what I can get this old LT1 to run before I turn the n20 on. later Clint

Thanks guys, I had run 11.00 with my 355 last year so it was so close to 10's but now with the added torque of the stroker it should run 10.60's or better once I get everything lined out. I plan on going when I can make 6-8passes that way I can do some tuning with tunercat and the car hasn't even been tuned yet so there is definately some more power in it. later Clint

WOW this gives me great insiration since my LE3 heads just arrived last night, although I'm only running an 847 cam in my 383, this still gives me hope that I can run a low 11 all motor and full weight.

Thanks guys I appreciate the compliments. I have a couple questions for you guys with experience. 1. Looking over my timeslips and I don't understand why the car is only trapping 98-99mph 1/8th but picking up 28-29mph out the back? Could be a combination of the tight n2o converter and me shortshifting 6400-6500rpms. 2.I need less gear to be able to use the n2o b/c the shift lite set at 6400 comes on about 200' before the end of the 1/4mile so even swapping to 3.73's doesn't seem like enough when I turn 200HP n2o on? I always ran the n2o with 3.42's on my old setup and had excellent results but don't want to kill it on the motor. With my stock PCM it will only turn 6900rpms before the limiter comes on so the n2o will pickup at least 12mph. I need to be able to run 140mph w/o going over 6900rpms so what you guys think. I am thinking of just putting the 3.73's in and giving it a try but I hate to swap gears 2-3 times to get the combo right. Thanks Clint

Tight converter is doing that high back 1/2 mph Clint. Mine picks up 26 in the back 1/2.
BTW CONGRATS, very nice!

lol!
You are way to new to understand the differences between Clint's setup and the others that you must be comparing this car too.
Do some research on his setup and history before making apples to oranges comparisons.
Clint's car runs well and deserves credit, but there are only a few cars that are truely comparable to his. Look up Mike Harvey for a similar Ai powered car.
