Default stall

It is the high stall, they say 2100,but I had a friend with one in a 95 ta and it stalled about 2300,you can get one off ebay for about $90 + shipping, just look up 700r4 dacco. The late 700r4 uses the same converter as 93-97 4l60e,I had one In my v8 s10 with about 380 rwhp and drove it on the street all the time,it also ran high mid 12s on shitty nitto tires.

ok cool .Tomorrow im gonna head out and inspect the engine that i found that looks to be rebuilt. What should i look for on the engine to identify if its been rebuilt? One thing i saw was the head were silver shiny when i took off the oil cap and new ac delco plugs , new seals and no oil at all on or around the engine.

Yea whatever you do don't put that 2000 stall in the car. I have an Yank SS4000 converter in my cc503 cam only car and I love it. My 10 bolt however did not.

Default converter

Ill leaning towards the dacco 2200-2400 stall for now. Im gonna order the com cams 503 and springs , Jegs 8.5mm wires , energy suspension motor mounts. Plan is to go around town to transmission shops to ask who sells the dacco converter. Gonna go and inspect further that camaro engine . If it looks good and turns im gonna pull it and inspect it before i buy it. The motor is form a 94 camaro and i have a 97 ws6. Parts different are timing cover , cam and WHAT ELSE I GOTTA SWAP ?

Default Fresh rebuild

Well after thining it over and overi decided to freshen up the lt1. But i rain into this 4 bolt main at the local LKQ and decided to fresh it up. Well brough it home and inspected it seem to be low mileage motor and found out when i popd the oil pan that it was 4 bolt vette engine. Started to disassemble it and there was no ridge at all on the cylynder wall and i could see clearly the cross haching on the cylinder wall. Here are some pics as of today

Going with a 2400 stall is a waste of money, IMO. You should run at least a 3200.

But good luck with the motor build though.

I vouch for the brake vacuum part. I am running stock stall, and cannot use the full potential of my Hawk ceramic pads, and thats really pissing me off. A stall is coming soon, I'm trying to break the transmission everyday I drive it to give myself an excuse to drop it out for a rebuild.

Don't rush your build buddy, if you don't have the cash for something thats a bit better, just be patient and wait. Its better than spending the money twice.

I was also working with a very tight budget, but I waited a couple of months, did more research and listened to what more experienced people had to say first, and then made my decisions. By then I had saved up money to buy the right parts for he build.

Good luck with your build bro

Default advice

Thanks for the advice you 2 and this is more of a daily driver with a kick than a track car . Like i said later on when uncle Sam gets me my money and the wifey, im gonna go to to Circle D for a 2800-3200 stall . For now im gonna go with a Dacco performance 2500 stall for 200 shipped. Tomorrow i gotta send my PCM to get reprogrammed and have some questions for you guys that done it..

1. With the cc 503 what should i set my rev limiter to safely? Is 6200 too much?

Ill ask more questions as i go , any help and good imputs are always appreciated ....

My car shifts at exactly 6375 (according to my data logging), stock bottom end, pro magnum rockers and comp cams 918 springs. Not sure what my red line has been set to.
