Looking for a cam for 383 lt1
Here is what I know. Bottom end is almost done. It has a cast 383 stroker kit in it. and I am told it will be 10 to 1 on the compression 54cc head. I am looking at 2 options for heads. 1 trickflows new fast as cast 190/ 54cc chamber N/A head or to save money stock heads just cleaned up( basically stock). I don't have much money and I will drive this car quit a bit. It has a auto trans built to hold 500hp and a 2200 stall that I will part with for a bigger stall if I need to. I have been looking at XFI 466: (218/224 .570/.565 113lsa) w/ 1.6RR's
This motor needs torque. I don't want to be spinning it more than about 6500. I am looking to get what ever power I can out of it and keep some street manners about it. I will be changing the injectors to 36 to 40lbs, stock plenum, I have long tubes off road Y with no cats, cat back, 52mm bbk tb, and egr delete. let me know what your experiences have been and what has worked.
However, the 466 is a NICE cam too, giving more low end grunt with stock rear end gears, auto trans and would have nicer idle too.
Just my view.

I don't know much about the Trick Flow stuff, but for most of us the stock heads are more than fine for our stuff...

Did you happen to mention your concerns about the compression ratio to Lloyd? I'm just wondering if he suggested cutting the heads a little extra or what head gasket to use?
I've dealt with the old school guys plenty of times telling me there wasnt a chance in hell my motor came stock over 10 to 1 compression. Then telling me I needed to get some aluminum heads, then saying I should put a Rock crusher in it....
Lloyd gets my approval for setting you up with what you need to meet your goals.
