Default lt1 383 stroker

how much does everyone think a decent priced shop will rebuild my lt1 and put put a stroker kit in for? also if i do the stroker kit and with the added power will i need to beef up my tranny if so what needs to be done?....Thanks

Depending on the quality of the parts and machine work, a good short-block will cost around $3000. On top of that, you need the valvetrain to match (heads, cam, springs, rockers) along with a PCM tune.

To do it RIGHT, you need around $6,000 minimum.

Lol the Auto 4L60E will **** out quick, i've killed 5 with bolt ons, cam and headwork. A 6 speed will hold a while with a good clutch but with beating on it you will take it out eventually.

$3k or better for the short block alone.
