Default Roller Rocker Squeak?

Hearing squeaking from what I think is from my roller rockers. I installed them about 4k miles ago, briefly when I first installed/adjusted them I heard that same noise, I went to get my dad to hear it, but it went away and never came back. They are PRW 1.6 roller tips with poly locks tightened 1/2 turn IIRC.

did you check for the proper pushrod length? are the rockers self aligning?

they are self aligning, and I re-used the pushrods, I found that they did not need to be changed, but I could have been wrong.

EDIT:

I just went out and checked the oil level and found that it was low, there was only oil on the tip of the stick, I had to add over a quart to get it to the right level. I added a little, started it and the squeak remained. Turned it off and added more and it did not squeak. I don't know if it was just cooled down or the problem was that the oil was low. I don't believe I have a leak, but I'm not sure why it would be burning oil that much on a motor with about 14k miles on it. I am due for an oil change, but I don't think the oil burns up because of that. I usually do every 3k miles but I am doing 4k this time. I was going to take off the driver's valve cover, even though I can;t tell which it's coming from but decided I would not see well enough unless it was day time anyhow.

I've never had any problem, like quiet as stock. I do however normally run lucas in it so idk if that could have something to do with it.

Is it normally when the car sits for a little while? Could just be oil draining from top end while it sits, then it takes a while to get oil back to the top end.

happened again tonight, bbt only after a long drive, did not do it in the morning however, which was the same distance. Now I think it's coming from the pass side valve cover, I looked at the other one as it's easy and didn't see anything unusual. Still don't know why it used that much oil, maybe I need to go thicker than 5w 30, like 10w40?

Have you done anything to the engine that would cause it to lose oil? How many miles, any leaks, does it smoke at startup at all...?

Did you use the slotted pivot ***** they came with or did you reuse the stockers like I recommended?

stockers re-used, no smoke that I could see. I ran the car again to listen and when I turned it off I could hear one rocker or something tapping or clicking for about 5 seconds after the car was off.

Nothing should be moving after its shut off, so I'm not sure what that was.

Might want to try an oil additive or something, I honestly have never had a squeak from mine and am running a lot of spring pressure.

You also might want to let the engine run for a little while with the valve covers off to see how much oils getting to the top end, could be a clogged pushrod or something.

by the time I finally got to it (after work, got off early), it wouldn't make the noise anymore and I couldn't see anything wrong. So I decided to just say F*** it and swap back to stock rockers for now. It's very strange that it would go all the way to my work in the morning, and not squeak until I get about 4 miles from home on my way back at the end of the day....twice.

I adjusted them all with the engine running, wasn't as hard as last time, but it's still hard to hear sometimes. Plus when I adjusted the 1.6RR's and went back and felt the tightness after driving just to see if everything looked okay, some were loose and some were tight. I was told this was normal. But just now after finishing, I check them all and they are all tight. I haven't driven it anywhere so they may balance out but I wonder if they are too tight? It was just a little too easy this time, I'm a little unsure of myself. some problem is always coming up so I feel scared to drive it too long sometimes. .
