Default Found my problem...

I think.. if anyone remembers afew months ago my car out of no where started to backfire, hesitate, stumble, and just plane ol' run like ****! i had pulled and replaced my opti and double checked my new msd coil, and wires. but still the problem endured. i hadnt had any time in the past month to figure it out. until tonight when i pulled off my passenger side valve cover to find this...

my intake valve spring on my #8 cylinder **** the bed... there comp cams beehives with about 7k (hard) miles on them. i guess they dont like revving to 6700 rpm alot hahaha

by any chance does anyone have a link to the patriot springs? thanks

Just be thankful your valve didn't drop inside the engine lol

Do they even sell just one spring? Or are you upgrading?

I'll make sure I never buy comp cams Beehive series springs.

Thanks for the Warning

Comps prices are out of site they should replace the whole set for free.
Send them a photo and a link to this page I am interested to see if they even reply.

I mean 7k mls lol

B&B Exhaust never even replied to a letter I sent them.

Like alot of people I want to deal with a reputable manufacture and at the price of Horsepower these days I don't think thats unreasonable

Bon

Call Comp. They are a great company to deal with. There was a bad batch of them a few years ago, you may have received those. If so they will take care of it and replace all of them.

I personally would skip over the Patriots and go for some PACs myself if you are gonna change it up.

Probably because standard rocker studs are being used instead of tapered. A tapered stud should always be used with a roller fulcrum style rocker.

Nope, I’d say all turned out good. I got a way better car (LS1) and swapped to it most of the suspension & chassis stuff from the ‘94.

I’m very, very happy to have gone to an LS1.

I just went to the Patriot Gold Extremes, my beehives ( LE2 heads ) were letting a lifter jump off the cam, bend the spider, and make a racket. I replaced the beehives, lifters, and spider put it back together and let her run again. The motor feels much better up top and pulls till I shift it, the limiter is set at 6900.
