Help,my car hates me
I have a 95 lt1 camaro with 69k on it. Ive had nothin but problems with the car since i baught it a year ago wit 65k on it and blew the motor a week later. Anyways long story short the cars a headache. I threw another code- code 16 and i guess that meant my opti-spark was on its way out. I replaced the opti&the car ran fine for maybe 25 mins or so. I drove it and turned it off then when i started it back up maybe 5 mins later the same problem came back and the car threw the same code. My question-what to do now? The TPS was recently replaced, fuel pump, water pump checked all wires everything im just sick of dumpin $ into it and the problem hasnt been fixed. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated....Thanks,Scott

i would say maybe you forced the opti on too hard or you need to check the dowel pin length on the cam. If its too long it will put stress on the opti. I dont know, just kinda throwing some ideas out there.

The MAF is new too...i just looked at the wires closer and the one from the coil to the opti has a hairline tear in it. I electrical tapped it back up and took it for a ride and the same problem came up. Could this wire be the reason?

No idea if it's your problem or not, but you need to replace it if the insulation has a tear in it. Electrical tape is not going to solve the problem.

I can relate. I blew a head gasket a week after owning it. Then several months later destroyed my motor. After the rebuild the radiator sprung a leak. And I find new nicks and scratches all the time... STOP PARKING NEAR ME DAMMIT!

Radiator probably sprung a leak cause of the blown head gasket...... I see that kinda **** all the time.
