Default has anyone done this?

im looking at parts and i notice that the arp bolts for the 4 bolt main are only 32 dollars. where as the studs for the 2 bolt main are like 70 something couldnt i just but the bolts for the 4 bolt main and use them?

probably the difference is the 4 bolt main one's don't come with windage tray studs

do i need to run a windage tray? im planning on running the canton after a little bit.

The Canton 242T has a built in windage tray, however it is finicky with oil. There have been several reports from those who can't use the full 6qt. capacity w/out having windage problems. I use either 5 or 5.5 quarts with a large filter and am fine.
Don't run the engine unless it has a windage tray.

im going too call arp or summitt and ask them then im curious as to how the lt1 corvette windage tray system is..

They won't know. There is no system per se. It's just a flat piece of steel that bolts onto the studs.


It's of poor design since there have been complaints of windage especially during hard acceleration, but it keeps windage at a minimum. Running w/out it could mean suicide to your bearings.

so from all that im gathering the corvette lt1 uses the exact same thing.. maybe it does come with studs.. im going to call and find that out
