Only you can know for sure because only you can see it. My advise have not seen it first hand, would be to just take it apart and clean everything and put it back together. Sand and dirt will tear a motor apart. It should be worth a few hours to you to take it apart and clean then assemble it again. You won't have to check clearances or ring gaps again so it won't take too long.

Sand,Dirt etc....will get into anything that is not sealed, knowing that i personally would pull the motor apart clean EVERYTHING then relube and reassemble......in the future you should have a few hefty bags to cover your motor!

Your opinion or do you know of a situation where compressed air was used to clean an engine and the bearings failed because of dirt?

It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Dirt sticks to oil.

So does dust, however you didn't answer my question. Is it fact dirt sticks to oil or that an engine will fail if compressed air is used to clean an engine that has been exposed to a dust storm?

Not saying it's going to blow 6 rods out the sides of the block and then the crank fall on the ground but if you run a new engine with dirt in it there is no question that if you pull it apart after some run time that the cylinder walls will have scoring, bearings will have scoring, the crank could very likely get some too but it would probably polish out. Why would you do that when you could take a few hours to clean it the right way and have no such issues?? Why the argument?

Soap and water will work fine being it is all new. Then dry with compressed air.

Because I don't think you can guarantee the fate of an engine if it is cleaned with compressed air after a dust storm.

Are you arguing this just because you want to argue or what's the deal? You can damn sure guarantee it is better off clean then not clean.

ive lost an engine from EXP doing this. TAKE IT APART. there is no way to clean internals on which the dust has stuck to lube and oil. I had very fine dirt in the lube of the cam and crank bearings from leaving it sit open as i went down the road. i didnt notice it when i put it together and it got some dirt on it later on in the build, i clean it w compressed air and replaced bearings 5k miles later. take it apart.
