Bigpurple did your car put down 1285 RWHP???? I know you're deep in the 8's at 167ish but I was thinking that was more around 1000-1100 at the wheels.

Thrust bearing failures are 100% always something external to the motor... usually too much converter pressure pushing against the flexplate....
not a problem with the engine IMHO... I had a thrust bearing failure with my 355 and have since modified my TH400 so that pressure doesn't build up in the converter. John Kilgore did the work and I haven't had an issue since.

so if anyone needs some nice parts check me out in for sale section. OH maybe we can do 1/8 trap speed fastest lt1 ? that should put me back in the top 10 with my 118mph trap
My decision was based on the fact that this economy sucks. If I sold my motor it would only sell if I offered it up for like 6-7K.... I've got like 15 in it..... I mainly don't want to invest money building a grenade with the pin pulled but since everyone i've talked to hasn't found a limit to an LT1 block then realistically we're working with a 23 degree headed SBC with reverse cooling... no need for a dart block if i can make 1400-1500hp with this block...
With the motor just needing low comp pistons and a turbo cam i'm already like 60-70% there with the project... Just need the turbo, all the piping, intercooler, BOV, wastegate, and hot side to include the headers.... I'd rather start from here than start with 6 grand and nothing but space under my hood.... (6K doesn't go far if i'm trying to build a stout turbo motor).... even more foolish since with a piston and cam swap i already have a stout motor ready for boost...
I'm not going to do it until I get the car in the 8.80's on spray tho.... probably mid 2010 i'll rip the car apart...
Speakin of fast red nitrous cars though, what every happened to speed density's car, last I heard it went down, and then he bought a C5.
Did I miss an update, is it still down, is he still looking for 8s?
