Default How to clean my engine bay?

Im just wondering how to go about cleaning all the dust and grime out of the engine bay. Im afraid to wash and mess up the damn opti, but it is filthy under the hood. How do you clean yours?

well after i did some searching and had the same question as you did i found out the best way is a toothbrush and a good 3 hrs of work. It is well worth it though! since then i have applied a light duty cleaner to the intake area and fenderwell ares and carefully used the sprayer at the car wash. just keep it away from the opti area. If your a perfectionist some elbow grease will be in order lol

same here. did it 5-6 times a year for 5 years and only covered my air filter since the ss's have them right on top. zero problems and still the stock opti.

yup, meguiar's wipes, rags, soap, water, brushes, metal polish, and 3-4 hours of your time.

I usually take the entire air intake off, take the battery out, and take off all the covers (fuses, radiator, ect.) and clean them individually. Definately makes the engine bay look nice...

same here, rags and some elbow greese. No need to soak down all the electrical stuff under there. I dont feel like finding electrical problems. so damp rags for me

AC your car is the cleanest f*ckin engine bay ever. I wish I could pull my motor and have it all shiny and clean, unfortunately it's like a grey color....it should be white!! and for some reason that car looks really familiar, did you take it to the Rolling Meadows car show?

Joe know, he was workin on the car haha

I tried this a few times and it works pretty good for a quickie clean up. Get a couple of cans of Armorall Foaming tire cleaner and spray evreything down under the hood. Don't rinse it off just let it dry. It helps to do it on a slightly warm motor. Try it you'll be amazed. You can't eat off it but it's an improvement.
