Default What's it going to take to get me into the 10's?

I'm Looking to run some 10,90's up here in Colorado. Do you guys think this is possible with a stock short block? And How would you get there? What Do I need to Buy to Run that time? My Mods are in my Sig.

6035ft! YIKES!

I see your running a 150 shot. So if you put a set of heads and a much bigger cam w/ the 150 shot then you should get there...

heads and a bigger cam in the area of a CC306 or GM847 plus weight reduction could get you there. youll also need to change your stall. with a cam that big a 34-3600 would be more ideal. also get your weight down as much as possible. some suspension work would really help as well. LCAs and relocation brackets and a torque arm should shave a few tenths by themselves. some good tires would help too

So an AI 200cc package with a 4,000 stall should get me there? Do I need bigger gears? I have 342's now. And I'm dead hooking 26x10.5x15 E/T Drags

You will undoubtedly need larger gears if you plan on staying N/A.

At that altitude though it's going to take quite a bit! Good luck!

Maybe I should just get ported heads and call it a day with an 11.50 car

I think a high-quality ported head, weight reduction, 1.7 rockers and careful tuning would get you there. If no, try a 175 shot. Also, go progressive to get you off the line quicker.

I wouldn't change the gears unless you run tall tires. With any more gear you'll have to much rpm on the big end with the N2O.

I wouldn't go to any higher stall. N2O cars do better with lower stalls if your hitting it off the line because the tremendous torque from the nitrous will flash your converter to a higher rpm.

In fact, NA with my car I used to run a 3200 Vigilante. With the N2O I had it re-stalled DOWN to 2600. When hitting the N2O at 60% of my 150 shot with a progressive off the line it will flash to 3200 rpm, as opposed to the 2600 when running naturally-aspirated.

I would get a stall in the 3600 rpm range. With the 150 hit, you wont want to go any bigger IMO. Get a custom grind to match your heads. Your hotcam is the limiting factor even with a set of heads....

I would go Ai's 200cc setup or Le3's. Than your 150 shot. But on the stock shortblock ist going to be walking on thin ice. Build a 355/383 with a good topend and a 150 and you should be there.

Your right. I stand corrected. That is very impressive considering D/A. Forgot about the elevation comment I made earlier. He must really have the car dialed in. But 11.4 still isnt the 10.90's your shooting for. Also realize, im not out to argue, or cause fights etc. Just tryin to give some friendly adivce. But ill stop cluttering your thread with a bunch of nonesense.

I would say heads, a big cam, a bigger stall, and some sticky tires, but I dont know if that will cut a full second+. We run consistently 7500-8500ish DAs around here, and with that little air it gets pretty rough to get a car to run 10's, and it also highly depends on your track. Try and go on a cold night with good DA maybe, on the right night it may pickup some time. Mine's nowhere near 10's though, so yeah.

You could be running a whole lot quicker. From your times it dosnt look like your hooking? But yes Altitude is a real HP killer Sounds like Its going to take more money than I'm willing to spend to get into the 10's

You're correct, our track has terrible prep. We just have to live with it. LOL, Im hoping with the headers/ory/gears/stall It will be quite a lot quicker, but i haven't been racing in a looong time. My 12.99 came on ET streets and it still spun, cut a 1.9x 60' iirc. Who knows if I'll get it back out to the track, I've been eyein a G8 for a while now. LOL!

i would just go with a two stage 300 shot. jk. definately swap the cam and the heads. don't be a afraid to go big with the cam either someone in the realm of .600 lift and maybe .230s for duration. my friend ignored me on his car and wen t with the hot cam it was not worth trouble for the gains to swap in imo. good heads such as afr are priceless as well. goodluck
