Default timing set ???`s

im building a lt1 i have a cloyes hex adjust timing set and cant seem to get the opti to set all the way in do i have to grind the nub on the timing set to get it to sit right or is there something else i can do ??? HELP !!!!!

What year motor is this going on?

Since you have a 94, your timing chain/sprocket options are very limited. If you want to upgrade to a double roller, you need an electric water pump, 95+ timing cover, 95+ crank hub, 95+ vented optispark, 95+ opti harness, 95+ vacuum lines, and a 95+ camshaft to accept the new pin drive of the optispark.

I didn't see that the timing cover was the issue. If he's installing the Opti, the cover is already on. Sounded like a spline alignment issue, IDK.

i machined the slot in the opti to fit over the dowel. so now it fits perfect nd has less that .01 clearence on either side of the dowel so i ont have to wory about the timing being all over the place
