67Goatman, That is a beautiful setup, what is involved? Besides cutting the plastic piece. Where did you get that peice, it doesnt look stock? The biggest thing is I dont want to do anything irreversable.... No cutting hacking etc.

I have to laugh when i see some posts:
"They are all the same"

LOL could not be more wrong on that!
"I have X and it works great"

Yeah, how do you know if thats all you have used?

The entire purpose is to get the most for your money aswell as the most bang for the buck.
Granted some people do not want to fabricate or for the inexperienced "HACK UP" the core support to instal the lid not a problem the K&N does work the best and that is not my opinion that is from a test that was done back in '97..
I personally have had the K&N,moroso, home made and SLP lid...
1.SLP lid
2.K&N
3.Homemade
4.Moroso

I believe a ram air is a ram air and a cai is a cai. You can't compare a ram air to a cai. The ram air is gonna flow more since it's almost like having the air forced to the filter instead of trying to suck in the air around the filter.

I have a K&N. I would highly recommend it if going the cold-air setup.

doesn't the slp cai kinda mess the hood up? on my old 96 t/a the drivers side corner would stick up a bit. It wasn't much maybe like 1/4 inch or so, and i think i seen a camaro that had the same problem too with a different cai.

Like i stated it was back in 97 so from that point i only used the K&N on my customers cars, i also had a few customers that had other CAI systems and they were a little slower than the others..i myself had K&N,homemade and the moroso and the moroso was a definate turd the car did not have the same response as the K&N. the moroso was swapped at the track same day within 10 min to the lid and the car went 1.8 mph and 2 tenths faster 3 runs each.thats all i needed to see and to top it off my lid has a Fram filter in it so i guess maybe the comparrison is unfair since the cai had a K&N.

I like the look of my stock SLP... the twin tubes make it look like it sucks in alot of O2 which is never a bad thing... Ive heard alot of LT1's and LS1's and for somereason my car sound like it will suck you in if your standing too close.... it has a good agressive intake sound that ive never heard from anyother n/a car.... even another 94 Z with a SLP knock off doesnt sound like that... and im not a pro when i say this but i dont know if a ram air is going to be that much more effective over a cai like the SLP.. you can only force so much air into a tube thats n/a... i mean at 150 mph thats one thing.. but not many of our cars see that.. and i like the look of the one infront of the radiator..but not a fan of the shroud that has to be there...

a WS6 ram air setup or lid will always be better than a CAI. its not necessarily the flow, the traditional elbow CAI has almost no restriction. but because the WS6 setup seals to the hood and draws in air from outside rather than from a tiny space under the bumper, the air is colder. colder air=power

I like the K&N but I also wanted one that had a plastic tube remember metal soaks heat better then plastic IMO causing it to heat up the air going through it.
