howdy all. i had to pull my clutch fork outta my Z to take a 1/4 inch of the mounting block and grind out some material on the arm. i assume this is because the part the slides on the TO bearing gets worn out. and i dont fell like giving gm 90 bucks for a new one. ill post some pics tom. oh and im doing this so it doesnt hit the Pressure plate. how many others have had this issue?

I had that EXACT issue when I installed a new clutch. I just took the "T" bolt off that holds the clutch fork on the tranny and ground a little material off that. Then I took the clutch fork and just took a little material off that.
Be careful though, I think I took too much material off because after I did that my clutch wouldn't engage right and I had to replace the T bolt.

I had a South Bend in mine when it did this. For the money it grabbed good and their customer service was excellent, but, when it comes time for a new one I am going to stick a ST in it, or the TH350 that's in my garage

the symptoms where that the fork was slightly hitting the pressure plate. yes the tbolt was tight and in correct working order. but due to milage i believe that the teeth that go on the TO bearing are worn down enough to cause this to happen or when the stock clutch exploded the fork was bent.... which is possible deffenitly so im either going to grind it and see how it works it only takes me 30 minutes to get the tranny pulled back far enough to pull the fork so if this doesnt work then i will buy a new one. no pics yet. tommorow. i can get a pic of the spot on the fork thats being rubbed tonight hold...
