Default Would it be worth it?

So I planned on buying a 96 Z after the 1st of the year to turn into a drag car. Car has a straight body, M6 and is in decent shape. Only down side is the motor has two blown headgaskets, its already out of the car, and the interior is going to need some DEEP cleaning.

Then I get this thrown in my lap. Buddy has a 94 TA that runs, is completely driveable, has a A4 and right now is his DD. The car has a salvaged title for a "fender bender" that hardly did any damage at all. Also, it already has a LS1 front clip on it. Only down side to this one is the underside has quite a bit of rust.

I can pick up the Camaro for 1500 and the TA for 1000. I am really considering picking them both up and just parting them out. Then keeping one of the rolling chasis' for a race car and just selling the other.

My question, to my fellow LT1 brothers is, would this be worth the time? Or would I be wasting my money?

how bad is the rust? Might not be worth the effort unless the cars have mods to sell. You wont get much for stock crap. Hell I cant even give stock parts away.

Sounds like you can get them both for pretty cheap. Buy them both and use the nicer one for the racecar.

The rust all looks like surface rust. I would probably keep the Camaro body for the racecar and then sell everything else. The thing I'm looking at though, is that I won't use the 4L60E, the M6 and one of the motors. Just selling that stuff may be enough to recoup the cost of at least one of the cars. Then, I could sell the TA as a rolling Chasis and make some dough on that too.

Where in texas? I have lots of the same parts and I'm in KS.

Back on subject, I already found someone who wants the TA as a roller and said they would give me 1500 for it. So basically I could buy it for 1000, take the motor and tranny out and then sell the body for 1500. Thinking this deal may work out after all

Careful, take it to PM before mods would think this is turning into a FS ad.
