You work at the Baxters on Sandy huh?? If so, I have probably met you a few different times. I rolled in there open cut out and shook the windows several times last summer...lol Some lady came out that worked there and was telling me how much she loved the sound.

My catback hides a lot of lope compared to my old duals, so I'm going to have to agree with everyone else on the exhaust.

Your tuner probably set the idle somewhere between 800 and 900 but it sounds like you've got air getting by when it shouldn't (zero throttle):

You might want to pull the IAC valve/motor housing off the bottom of your throttle body and give it a good cleaning. DON'T pull it off if you haven't done the throttle body bypass or you'll spill coolant (on a stock TB with water cavity). If you have done the bypass and this is an upgraded TB, you might want to make sure the blades are closing completely. Air getting by a zero throttle will cause it to idle high, as high as 1200-1500 RPM.

I don't think it's your magnaflow entirely... Your lope has a lot to do with RPMs and the fuel settings. My tuner dropped the RPMs a little and leaned it out a bit at idle so I could get the idle I wanted. Admittedly, I wanted the lope whether it was better for performance or not I bought the cam for a loping hot rod, not for a drag strip queen that sounds like a stock car.

I can't pull it up here at work to get you the link but I have a video in my youtube titled "Did someone order CC503 lope?" and it's a clip of my exhaust running through my V6 (smaller diameter I pipe) Magnaflow exhaust and then I opened my Race Ready Performance electric cutout about halfway through the video.

Then you haven't had a Magnaflow exhaust before...they hinder sound quite a bit.

The camcorder mic has it muffled some... it's loud.

Definitely louder than when it had a FLowmaster on it.

Irregardless a Catback is going to kill some of the lope and sound from the cam. Plus you can't compare his CC503 to a GM 847.

Of course it's gonna kill some sound... but I wouldn't call Magnaflow a quiet catback, nor blame his sound(or lack thereof) on it.

Well out of the several guys on here from past threads and that I know in my hometown, can tell you it is one of the more quiet catbacks. Flowmaster and GMMG are both louder then the Magnaflow. My buddy has the Flowmaster (which is a good deal louder) and the GMMG speaks for itself. Do a search through old post and you will find that a lot of guys say if you want a quieter catback then get a Magnaflow. And if you are implying in your last statement that you can't blame his catback for hindering some of the sound then you aren't up to par on some of this stuff

I ran the magnaflow at one point on my LE set up and it was the quietest catback/exhaust I have ever heard or ran. It really made the camshaft seem almost factory. Switching to TD's made the cam come alive. Black93...you are in need of some product knowlegde my friend.

HA! Product knowledge..

Yeah at idle and low RPM cruising it is quiet. Once you open it up it has that low drown sound and not that louder/raspy sound some of the others put out.
