Wrong.

The PCV valve is located on the driver side of the intake manifold. He is looking at the fresh air supply hose for the crankcase.

OP, you can remove it and replace it with a breather available at most parts stores, or replace the hose/grommet (also available at most parts stores). If you opt to remove the tube, make sure you plug the large fitting left on the throttle body.

well i pulled the plug thing and it was just like a plastic hose that just kinda went into the hole, theres no rubber grommet or anything, although its letting a lot of oil seep through. it wasnt he pcv valve but I'd still like to fix this oil seepage somehow.

i did actually buy a pcv valve and just replace it anyway even though the old one still rattled, it looked pretty crappy like it was original and it was only 3 bucks, may as well replace it.

I had a 1994 LT1 and it had 2 PCV valves, one on the drivers side of intake manifold, the other one where you circled in the picture.

well i looked in the haynes manual and it said the only pcv valve is the one that goes into the intake manifold, the part i circled wasnt even mentioned, its like the problem i had on my '94 chevy with the tbi305, the grommet seeped oil so i replaced it and all was good, but so far i hav't gotten a difinitive answer, the part i circled is definately NOT a PCV valve looks nothing like one, its like a plastic hose that pops into the hole with a ring thats supposed to seal it, its got a 90 degree angle to it.

I called it a breather when I called the dealer and ordered. I need to call and see if it came in to.

Just bring it to the parts store and look for a grommet that will fit.

Also, I explained in my first post about what the tube is.

^^ agree here.

it is not 2 pcv valves. pcv valve is on driver side in manifold. the one on the passenger side is just a fresh air tube like said. it provides circulation through the throttle body. get a new grommet make sure the plastic fitting fits tight and it should help the seeping.

Like some have said, replace the grommet and the 90 degree tube.

Its probly worn out, dried up, cracked and not sealing properly.

Then someone that did not know what they were doing put it there. No valve goes in the valve cover.

To whoever's credit, the hose is an air supply hose that supplies the PCV system with MAF-metered filtered fresh air to displace crankcase gases. That's probably why it said 'PCV' on it. Just a tube, an elbow, and a grommet.

More importantly, it's not a PCV valve.
