everyday drag radials?
275's (even in nitto's "smaller" tire) size are plenty big for function wise-ie you'll have plenty of grip. Are you worried about function/traction or just the looks?

again, it's pointless, but they do go on there and hold air and it's driveable.
I AM NOT RECCOMENDING THIS, I AM SIMPLY ILLUSTRATING TO MARC THAT HE CAN RUN A WIDER TIRE THAN A 275(ALTHOUGH NOT RECCOMENDED) IF HE SO CHOOSES ON HIS 9.5 WS6 RIM.
here's a thread pertaining to the topic that illustrates very well pros/cons of the topic:

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I run M/T DR's on the street and although they don't last very long I can pretty much guarantee that I will dead hook and out launch just about anyone I come across. If I had a car that I daily drove and didn't race at the strip I would run the Nitto's since they last quite long and handle the rain very well.
Having said that, I used to run 315/35/17 BFG Drag Radials when they first came out. They fit fine, they did bulge though. I didn't like them. Best I ever got out of them was a 1.80 short time and they only lasted 6K miles. I then switched to 275/40/17 Nittos. Those lasted 15K miles and got a best of 1.75 short time.
Ran 245/50/16 Nitto Drag Radials on the TTA and got a best of 1.61. Those lasted 13K on that car.
Here's a copy old pics of mine with the 315 BFG's.
They didn't last as long, but out-hooked the HELL out my my nittos. Sure, the Nittos still had 1/2 tread at around 5K when I swapped them, but the 555rs just seemed like a sticky street tire, not a DR...
My BFG DRs lasted only 6K but hooked like mad on my H/C build...bottom 1.6 60's on stock salad shooters all around
.They absolutely sucked in the rain though...if it really is a true daily driver I would say the Nittos are all around the best compromise of performance, lifespan, and safety. If it is more of a weekend toy that doesn't see too many miles or any rain then a stickier DR would be a better choice - I have heard great things about the MTs and they are what I am going to try next. I only put around 5K a year on my car anyway.
Also be sure you are comparing the same tires...I know that there are like 3 different BFG DRs and a ton of Nitto variants out right now. I had the BFGs with the flat bar in the middle
.
