do you guys think a performabuilt level 1 would be healthy enough for me?

i'd consider doing the th350/400 swap but i just don't know enough about it and am afraid i'd really mess something up. a built 4l60e is just a plug and play so i think that would be the simpler route to take

A stock one would be fine if he just plans to grandma it around..I don't see that happening though.

^ I don't see why not.. And a TH350/400 is plug and play also.. Nothing you can mess up. No custom work or anything lol

About $1,500 in the whole swap (tranny, crossmember, converter, driveshaft, shifter/cable,). I already had things such as a tranny cooler, a/n fittings and stuff (which is cheap stuff anyway).. I went through 2 transmissions (4L60's) before I decided this is what I need..

what size converter do you think i'd need for the th350? who makes them? i own an auto parts store so getting the random odds and ends is rather simple for me, lol. you can't re-use the 4l60e's shifter? if i got

i see re-built 350's going for about 600 on ebay...and 500 or so for a converter...then whatever a crossmember costs...so i'd be looking at 1500 or so anyway...which is about the same as performabuilt level 1...

now most of the people around here are old school hot rodders...so i'm thinking i could find a 350 for rather cheap, but would a stock shifter cable from the 350 work? would a stock rebuild be enough to handle my engines HP or would i need upgrades?

M6s are not bulletproof by any means, and more expensive to rebuild. Ask me how I know !
