Was really hoping to bring my car out for this but I will have to make some changes to be competetive in the modified n/a class. It will also be the weekend I am in Vegas for my best freinds bachleor party

Hopefully 2011 will be the year I finally make it...

Shoot I will have to Joe Dirt my car to get to 3075lbs ready to race. That really is not a realistic number for any 4th Gen F body. That means it would have to be on average 2900lbs no driver, costs a FORTUNE to get to that weight with 4th gen a F body.

x2 thats alot for something with no advertised gain in horsepower. I dont need any more weight either, that could put me up to 4k pounds race weight and id still be trying to compete with stock heads lol.

Ill probably just spectate, my car isnt setup to be competitive in something like this at all.

You've got the minimun race weight requirement all wrong. You don't have to add weight to your car unless you are under the min weight for your class. For instance, lets say min weight for a class is 3400, then 100lb penalty for the LS1 pcm, so now min weight is 3500. As long as your raceweight is 3500 or more, you don't have to add anything.

gotcha, thanks for clarifying.

but i still wouldnt stand a chance against 9 second cars with stock heads. I dont plan on holding off all summer on my LS1 pcm conversion just so i can stay legal in the street class. OBD1 is old technology and i am done with it I'll just save some $ and spectate.

You could always run the index or bracket classes

I understand how you feel, in 2008 my plan was just to take my car to KC only to spectate, not race. Everyone on the boards talked me into racing anyways...and I'm glad they did That year, I got beat in the first round. But I came back in 2009, and by a stroke of luck, I won my class and took home a golden opti

Sorry for the ramble, my point is, if you're gonna be there anyways, RACE!!!

i absolutely would if i was any closer. but trailering 600 miles is a lot of fuel expense for bracket/index racing. we'll see what my situation is when the time comes, i havent the slightest clue where ill be in life at that point since im graduating college in may.

meh. The LS1 pcm serves the same function as an aftermarket rear end. All it does is help you get down the track safely and without mechanical failure.
