Drivers side grounds
So I just put a new forged 355 in my t/a and I am trying to crank it for the first time today. I got it to the point where the starter will turn over once or twice but it quickly loses power (even while being charged). I then noticed that the drivers side copper ground wire from my ignition coil was getting hot and literally pulling itself towards my msd ignition coil. I have this wire grounded to the frame with two other grounds. Not quite sure where to go from here, does this copper wire need a separate ground?
I have attached a picture to help explain, the question marks indicate where there is some uncertainty as I have the shared ground location secured as in the picture.
If your ground strap is becoming hot, then there's obviously some kind of resistance there. Perhaps the terminals need to be wire-brushed and cleaned up a bit.

That's why your braided ground is getting hot. It's carrying all the ground potential from the frame to the engine. Get that ground on there.

I saw that on my car just before your post, I had the battery power cables run all funky and I didn't even notice I was missing the ground! It looks like I will have to switch the two lower motor mount bracket bolts because I have the stud on the back and it looks like it should be on the front.
