Default Long tubes on lowered lt1

I was just wondering if anyone has had problems running long tubes on a lowered lt1. I lowered my car 1.5 inches and just got done putting jet hot long tubes on and the clearance looks pretty scary maybe 2.5-3 inches between the collector and the ground...any input would be great. I will also post pics of the header install soon!

well, LTs on a lowered fbody = banged up LTs. Ususally most of the damage will occur at the flanges where they meet the Y-pipe. More-so on the drivers side.

when I had my lt1 i was lowered like you and i never scrapped the headers...dumped x pipe was a different story...i had pacesetters and not jet hots though. If i remember correctly, jet hots are a little longer...

Also depends on the type of collector the headers have. Slip-fit collectors offer substantially more ground clearance due to the lack of the added height of the 3-bolt flange.

Not the best shot due to lighting but its the only one i have right now that shows off my current ride height. I scrape.....often. But roads around my house suck....a lot.

I'm on Strano Springs and running jet hot long tubes with the 3 hole flange, which doesn't leave much ground clearance. The only spots I have trouble with are speed bumps, but you also have to watch where you drive to avoid possible scraping. The Strano Springs don't slam the car extremely low though.

I have Pacesetter LT's on my car and its lowered about 2" not sure of the exact drop..because it has coilovers. The LT's rarely scrape on anything...only issue is big speed bumps.... I wouldnt worry about to much.

I scrape all the time on speed bumps/humps. I wish I just kept the stock springs or got some 1LE springs for a DD.
