I'm getting old, want to quiet down my exhaust.....
I love GMMG, a lot actually. I had it on my stock Formula and it sounded great. Had it on there when I put LT's and it sounded great. Got the current Formula with a LE2 package and it sounded amazing.
Well I recently put in a 383 with higher CR and a way bigger cam. I love the way the car sounds, but I don't like how loud it is at cruising speeds. I know I know, I'm getting old. But I want to be able to halfway enjoy driving the car and be able to listen to music and carry on a conversation with someone while I am driving.
Right now going down the highway I have to blast the music or turn it down all the way and yell to my Wife. I would like something a little more mellow.
The exhaust already has a Cutout in it and I am in the process of setting up a nice electric system for it.
Who here has a SLP PowerFlo and what do you think of it? Being that it is stainless really attracted me to it. I just want to be able to mellow out the sound and open the cutout when I really want to be loud!

A loudmouth with an extra muffler is going to be anything but quiet, try to find a used 2otl IMO. I swapped out my duals for one and couldn't be happier. Quieter at cruising/idle but it still opens up at WOT.

Dynomat (I used secondskin) the car and install some sound deadening products (just did mine and it's amazing) and you'll cut down on rattles and exhaust sound at the same time. Just out there as a different option.

I almost bought a new SLP 2OTL off of EBay when I was looking for an exhaust. I liked the way it sounded in clips, and the fact it was available as an OEM exhaust, but I just never was crazy about the looks. I don't think I've ever heard one in person. I do like the sound of the GMMG.

I am in the process of tossing the true duals. It doesn't bother me as much but it gets old after a while and my wife doesn't like it and I don't want to kill my sons ears with him being only 2. I am going to go with a custom made 4" mufflex type and make it 2otl like the fectory ss exhaust.

Well man, I don't know if that's possible in these cars - lol. If you want that you should probably go ahead and pick yourself up a caddy. My exhaust isn't really that loud, but at cruising speed it's the road noise, the squeaks, the rattles, that make the car loud. Not really the exhaust. You're still gonna have to turn your music up and yell when you're on the freeway even if you tone down your exhaust note
