Misfire after rain.
Misfire after rain. So it was raining pretty hard the other day and I went through a pretty deep puddle, since then my car has been running like crap. So I pulled out the ol scan tool and of course I had the p0300 (random multiple misfire code) I also had a MAF code as well. So I let everything dry up checked my wires and reset the SES light. I cleaned up my MAF sensor and have driven the car for about 50 more miles. So far it is still missing bad but the only code that is coming up is the P0300, no more MAF code. I am thinking the OPTI is the culprit since it is not cylinder specific and it happend after the rain. Before I tear it out do you guys have any opinions or suggestions as to what ekse to check before I replace the OPTI.
Like how many days ago? Sometimes you get lucky and it will dry out and work perfect. Other times it is game over. I've saved a couple optis by putting a hair dryer on it for hours at a time over a couple days.
Yes sir I know exactly what your problem is....O2 SENSORS! I have had the same thing happen to myself and my bro with his SS LS1 car. If you have LT headers it will make it happen more often. I only have a !CAT and new muffler and I still had that problem once when I went through a large puddle. If you drive the car as best as you can and keep it running it may go away after a few miles MINE DID. But my bro's didn't.

i have the same problem too...its happened to me before and all i did was wait a day or two and things went back to normal. i had my friend scan it and it was showing the catalytic converter code (cant remember the code) . i might just go to the muffler shop and get them removed, since im not ready for headers yet.
