Cooling system question
Neither one of my fans come one. I recently replaced one of the motors. Im going to jump the three fan relays when I get off of work. Just wondering what else could be wrong with it. Thanks in advance

I will probably end up doing that. Would replacing the computer cause them to work again? Mine quit working whenever I changed the sensor in the water pump but the sensor is reading the correct resistance for what the temp guage says.

Man that is how alot of them go out..don't know about the PCM idea. I kept the wiring intact and I'm using them with my LS1 PCM..no issues, works great.
I wonder if there is some kind of reset that has to be done. Mine were working till I messed with the Water Pump for the very first time.
What you think Rob..you ever heard of anything of this nature..as in a reset?

no my tune is stock. I checked all the relays and they are all good. I read somewhere that you can short out the wires to get the trouble codes and if the fans come on then the computer is capable of running it.(my fans came on when I did this) Is this correct?

If your tune is stock, the fans are not programmed to come on until 227 degrees, so if you're coolant isn't getting to that temperature, they won't come on. Probably a good bet that there's nothing wrong with your fans.
If you want to test the fans, jump the relays in the underhood fuse box from D2 to J2 and then to a 2-pole switch (optional) and then to ground.

They do not come on at all. It will get almost into the red and they still do not come on. I have jumped the relays and the fans will work that way. I wish I could get them to work correctly just in case someone else drove the car and was not paying attention.
thanks for all the help so far. please keep it coming.
my car is a 94 z28 if that matters

Yeah that's probably what i'll do. The only time I would really have to turn it on is when i'm in the drive thru or something. It does fine on the freeway where the wind passes through the radiator. thanks for the help.
If I spliced it into the wires above then it would still cut off with the ignition right?
