le2 vs trickflow
hi im new here and to lt1s i have a 95 z28 m6 i have all the normal bolt ons including longtube headers and 3.73 gears im currently am dropping my cradle to freshing things up and have a goal of 400 rwhp and break into the 11s heres my question im understanding mr elliot is a porting wizzard and his combos are proven but what route should i go because hes in texas and im 30 min from summit racing in ohio
le2 heads and cam with ported intake 1875+
or trick flow 180 heads and comp 306 cam to remain 54cc for compression
im on a budget of about 3500$ including injectord bigger tb rockers gaskets ext
le2 flow better but i have to pay shipping and down time but hes proven to get the right numbers
trickflow route and cam 1700 plus a local guy will sell me his ported intake 58mm tb and nitrous kit for 600 with msd ignition help how much power would the trickflow make

You should also consider www.advancedinduction.com. Your best bet is to contact both vendors and talk to them about your goals and they'll be able to help you out, no questions asked. You have a healthy budget for valvetrain so you're definitely on the right track.

AI or LE will take care of you.
Trickflow 180cc heads? I would step up to their 195cc heads at least if you are going to go that route.
I would just recommend having them ported by either LE or AI, buy that nitrous, ported intake, 58mm TB, ignition, and be set

The AI 190cc's are comparable to the LE2 heads and are $200 cheaper, so not sure on where you're getting that info (the 200cc's are more comparableto the LE3s). I'm not trying to sell you either way - just making you aware of the options that are available.

the new trickflows are supposed to be around 280 i think dont buy the old ones or you will losen some compression. I think either would be good with the trickflows you could always have them ported bigger for a stroker motor later down the road.

$1395 + core + cam for 190cc AI heads as listed on their site
$1995 + core is the price for their 200cc heads and cam
LE2 heads and cam is $1600.
I think either choice would give you impressive gains

6801, You'll be selling yourself short and wasting time and money if you go with the out-of-the box Trickflows (although I can't speak for the 21 deg heads).
Both the AI 190 and the LE2 heads are a smart step to reach 400 rwhp; the as-cast TF 180's or 185's are not. I'd be inclined to run the stock heads with a good cam (you can do much better than the CC306) rather then just bolting on those TF's. And I'm not badmouthing TF in particular; the same goes for AFR's and others. Cam-only won't get you to 400 rwhp, but will easily run 11's if the rest of the car is up to it and you can launch that M6.
It's too bad you're not closer to Dayton. One of the best LT1 builders in the country is there, Mike Harris. He used to do his own heads and they were kick@ss, but found he couldn't compete with AI on value, so he now uses their heads for all his builds.

A.I heads for $1395+ cam it will still be $1695 and the L.E2s with cam is the same price.
So going with either company will be good, you just have to make ur choice of what you want.

how big of a cam are you planning on running?
If your going with a cc306/GM 847 your not going to need the best heads and will still be able to make 400rw.
Now if you dont want anything bigger than a hotcam or crane 227, etc your going to need better heads to make up for the small cam.
As Blueramair stated, you can get into the 11's with le1's and a cc306 or similar cam. i agree.
