I'm confused, by TA do you mean torque arm?

I would clearly answer slicks but... if you are running a stock TA ,i would not try to put slick on your car.

You got a good rear end that will not break,if you throw some slicks with the stock TA(wich is very weak) you could end up breaking something because of all the loads apply to the TA.

My two cents

X2, what tires are you currently running? I would go for the TA, than other mods that will improve your 60fts. In your sig you mention you have a bad 60ft times, so improving them will really help you 1/4 mile ET.

A good tire is ALWAYS the single best suspension mod you can have, IMO.

You can hook up without an aftermarket torque arm on slicks, but you can always hook up on street tires with an aftermarket torque arm.

I honestly don't think you have enough power to break it.

I say ask if you can start at the 1/8th mile.. you could have a 8 second increase in 1/4 mile time.

Or just get the slicks

I broke my stock torque arm with bolt ons and full exhaust. it twisted and tore from the rear end. IMO i would go with the slicks and skinnies. since your trying to get a better ET.

Slicks and skinnies would give you the best ET. I run a stock TA that I welded 1/4" steel plates along the bolt holes and run longer bolts. I also added a little bracing to the bracket on the trans. My car has seen over 200 12 sec. passes on slicks with no problems. I know a few guys that have run 10's with this setup but not recommened.

I've cracked two stock ones, not completely broken, but over time they can fatigue and start to crack. Rather than welding it just bought a BMR adjustable because the car is also lowered.

Without question slicks and skinnies will give you a better et. . I doubt you would see any gain with a new torque arm and still on street tires. . but hey it's your money

Slicks and skinnies. I ran my car to the bottom of the twelves with stock EVERYTHING for suspension and never hurt anything.

If you strictly just want the quesion answered slicks will help more then the torque arm ET wise, assuming nothing else breaks.

My TA was bent to **** when I pulled it off my car and it was just a slow *** high 12's bolt-on setup when I ditched it. The 145K it had at the time might have also had something to do with it .

Its flimsy stamped steel garbage.

Running the stock torque arm with slicks behind an A4 wouldn't worry me too much, but the M6 shocks the driveline and suspension much more on the launch compared to the auto. How you launch the car will also depend on how much stress is applied to the torque arm, but I imagine with a 9inch and slicks you not going to be ***** footing off the line

Slicks would definitely lower your ET but I would keep an eye on that stock torque arm if you do, would suck to damage other parts if the torque arm gave out.

There are so many stock Tq arm cars running in the 10s, better yet cars hitting 1.4-1.6 60' times for years. You would benefit more from a drag wheel combo first.. The factory Tq arm is not as strong as quality after market replacements but at the level you are at you really would not "gain" as much as you could by doing tires.
