Project is done .
Tight fit , I have about 1/8" between the tip of the pump and the fan shroud.
Modified timing cover.

I'm now ready to pull the car out of storage , put insurance and plate and give it a try.
I bought the car last fall but I had to put it away because it was very late and snow was around the corner.

Here's some feedback after about 2 weeks of driving.
It is working perfectly , temperature is always the same , either traffic stop and go or highway.
Very happy with my water pump and no more oil leak from the waterpump shaft ( it has been deleted ) .
I'm unable to tell if there is HP gain since I haven't put the car on the dyno before and after.

I was very lucky to found that out , glad I decided to take it apart after hearing something moving in it.
Screws has been locked tite so I should be fine. So far the car runs great. I love the RX7 with the LT1 in it.

Hmmm, I was just searching and this came up. I've got a Taurus fan setup in mine too and bought the Meziere pump after just kinda "guessing" that it would fit. Those fans work wonderful for cooling, but mine developed a ticking sound so I think the motor is going on it. Looks like I'm gonna have to figure out something else.

The Mezeire is thicker then the CSR so in my car it would have not fit my set up.
The Taurus Fan I bought was aftermarket replacement but brand new. $170.00 CDN , I didn't want to deal with a used one.

That is friggin cool stuff ! I would have LOVED to see what my 8000 rpm LT4 (388ci) would have done in a light car like an rx7 !!!
you MUST post pics now that you have teased us with engine shots !! I wish I saw this post earlier but was going to say if you are running a EWP you can run a stronger timing chain or even a double roller. ANy standard SBC timing chain would work. The only reason LTX ones are specific is the built in water pump gearing which is REALLY heavy.
Car looks clean and glad the install worked for you. maybe next time I come down to MTL with the boys I'll see if you're out at any events I'd love to check that ride out !!![Hail](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_hail.gif)
Forgot to add I dynoed my bolt on LT1 before and RIGHT after the install and I picked up 7 rwhp at peak only. The gains were liniear with rpms. so it's not something you will notice much. My LT4 build went 8000 and this pump will cavitate over 6500 rpms so that's why I went with an HD mezziere for that build.

What mounting kit is in your car? I've got the Grannys in mine and my radiator looks to be mounted different as well. I know if I modify my brackets I can get another 1 1/2 to 2 inches by moving the radiator forward. I guess I should have measured before I pulled my engine. Either way I'm gonna run the Meziere and a double roller chain, so there may be some trimming of plastic.

Damm, that car REALLY makes me want to attempt a swap in a generation like that. Do LS motors fit? I would imagine the lighter block (85 lbs or so) might help a bit to shave even more weight not to mention the slightly greater HP potential.
Also you if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for the car?? you can pm me if you like. I'd be interested in something like that if it were ever up for sale !!

I'll just say I think he got a deal on that car. Granted it had some bugs that needed working out, but he got alot of real good parts on it. I paid pretty much what mine was worth ($7k) and he picked his up for less with more good stuff.

Thanks , I'm really proud of it too.
Not much , engine cradle , trans support , custom driveshaft and labor.
Stock GM ECU
Every thing is fully working in this car ( was not when I bought it ) .

T56 ( 6 speed ) from a Z28
Most people do the LS swap now but I still think the LT1 fits better the 2nd Generation RX-7.
As of right now , price of the car , import fees , taxes + around 5K in misc. stuff including the LE2 "Lloyd Elliott" kit, I'm close to 13K CDN as of today.
Oh yeah.....
