Default Those with a borla exhuaust qtp electric cutout?

Hello - I have a 95 z28 with a adjustible borla exhuast. I was looking to get a QTP electric cutout for it this year. I noticed they make one for the borla that bolts in place where the adjustible plates go. Just wondering for those who have this or had one on there borla exhuast is there any modifications that have to be made or is it a direct bolt on type deal?? Also does anyone have pictures of this kit installed on there borla that they could post up in this thread.

I have the QTP electric cutout installed in my borla. It was a simple, direct bolt in. It's just like installing one of the blockoff plates. The hardest part was mounting the remote switch, and that wasnt that hard. I put mine under that flip up panel on the console. I LOVE the remote adjustability of it, you can go from completely closed off to wide open or anywhere in between in seconds. Borlas should come with it. You can just see it in this pic

If you go to page two of my link below you can zoom in on it.

Stay away from QTP Electric cut outs. They tend to have a lot of issues. Def go with DMH Electric Cut outs. Far superior product.

Here are a couple of pictures of my DMH. Plenty of ground clearance with a 1.5 drop.

If you are going to use it on the Borla, buy it for the sound cause there are no significant gains in performance.

When I was around 300RWHP, I gained 4 RWHP and lost RWTQ. It is too far back to be of any real benefit.

not by-passing the cats is why it doesn't do much. it certainly sounds good tho and is nice having loud or deafening at the touch of a button for when a jake goes by you can at least mellow it down a tad.
edit: you dyno'd it open & closed? I was always curious to see the dif in curves got the graphs?

I had a straight pipe at the time and I dyno'd Borla blocked and wide open back to back. Again the gains were nill and not worthy of the expense of the cutout. Again buy it for the sound, not the performance.

The switch that comes with this qtp borla cutout - does it just fully closed or open or can you open the cutout slighty adjust it where you want??

You can adjust it where you want it. But, if it is partially open, it makes hissing and huffing sounds that dont sound pleasant due to the air movement over the blade.

Thanks Everyone - just placed a order with DMH for their Borla cutout - Awesome company to do business with. Thanks for looking out - glad I did not go with QTP from all the bad stuff I been reading about them - Mike
