cut-outs are great for a car that races or needs open exhaust......you dont and wont for a long time man lol. That would be an expense you could use on something else. For exhaust delete your CAT's, get a good muffler (NOT FLOWMASTER), and run 3" pipe all the way through. That will be more than enough for you on the exhaust.

and if you delete your CAT's...get O2 SIMS!!! you need 2 for the back 2 O2 sensors. That way you dont pop codes, and your computer thinks all is well so it doesnt go all haywire...

the first thing you should do in reality is suspension BUT if you want power first I'd go with full bolt ons, gears (3.42's or 3.73), stall converter in the 3200-3600 range, tune, and spray!!! oh and a good drag radial to actually put the power to the ground

Can't he just tune out the back 2 o2 simulators when he sends off the PCM to tune for the shift points/recalibration of the 3.73 gears/3600 stall, air/egr delete stuff. Granted ~$175 for a tune, its worth it

He CAN delete them, but it still pisses the computer off. I cant remember why, but I posted about this a LONG time ago when I was about to do that and I got ALOT of people tellimg me to simulate them NOT delete them....I am sure someone here knows why though.

If you have CAT's and you delete them but leave the sensors in, thy will read the unfiltered exhaust and send a signal to the computer that something is wrong. The computer will then begin to make changes to correct the A/F ratio back to where it is "supposed" to be after the CAT and it will effect your cars performance.
If you put Sims on it, they send a signal to the computer that all is ok and the CATs are working properly, so it thinks everything is great and keeps on keepin on.
If you delete the O2's during a tune, it does something different that the sims and if I remember right it will still run like ***....someone help me out here lol, I forgot because its been a long time since I read about all this...

I just got a mint condition 1995 camaro z28 with 79,500 orginal miles, red, leather and the bose system and auto i picked it up for $1000.. it is stock now except for an open cut out. i need you advise on what to start with.. with mods. What should i get.. it has 273 gears now.. need it fast by summer.. some kid is talking ****. he has a 1996 trans am M6 with full exust, headers cold air and a cut out. he has 343 gears. i want to beat him. what mods do you sugest?

. anyway my car has stock 3.42 gears, lt's/ory/cutout/ and a blowmaster (that came on it). cai, and a short throw. and i like it how im "some kid" were friends and your like 2 weeks older??? andy and i already told you what mods to start with and guess what? they all said the same thing we did.
and yeah a couple people on ls1tech tell you they want pics and you drop everything your doing but andy and i ask you to put some pics on neor and we get nothing? to sum it up your best chance is from a roll because as we saw when you got taken off the line by a old ford taurus.... and then beaten by a saturn vue a couple days later.... you could use some work on your launch. get a full exhaust and cai, lose to me then go from their.

OP YOUR ONLY CHANCE is to spray it, **** those bolts-ons w/ ur limited budget the only chance in hell you have at beating ur friend(or "this kid" ) in the next few years(assuming 6spchicken doesn't mod more) is to spray it.
