When you see it, keep a close eye on your temp gauge...

If your coolant level is fine, you might have the common low coolant sensor failure. If you unplug the sensor the light will go away and stay off. It's located just below the radiator cap on the passenger side.

Yeah, before you start it check the coolant levels. If they are good, start it up. If it is on, let it run for a min but WATCH THE TEMP. Let is warm up to about 160 and shut it off then immediately restart it and see if it comes back on. If it does, refill the coolant, fire it up, BLEED THE LINES, BLEED THE LINES, BLEED THE LINES lol, and enjoy.

I just came back in, it warmed up to 160 and I shut it off, restarted it back up said it was at 160 but the light went away, took it out for a spirited drive, never went above 180.

just as you said Z28Camaro30Ann, mine was sitting for 2 days and its cold out right now, but its not low on coolant, didn't overheat so its all good. I got worried when I saw that I was like wtf is this, another light of doom?!?!?

The things these cars do to us . my friends 02 camaro if its cold out ( and he lets it sit for some time) his airbag light stays on and causes his service soon light to go on. he always goes crazy but then he remembers its the stupid airbag light. Turns it off and back on its all gone.
