Default symptoms of leaking intake gaskets

im trying to find out why my car still gets oil in the intake even tho my pcv is capped off on both sides with breathers. anyone think intake manifold gaskets could cause this?

What do you mean your PVC is "capped off?"

That's my question, I don't think you want to cap those off completely, if anything you could put a filtered cap directly on the valve cover. If you completely close off the PCV you are stopping pressure from venting out and could actually blow your intake gasket, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong everyone. I do know that some Pro-mod drag cars actually use a vacuum pump to pull any air out of their motors to keep pressure inside the motor down, I'm sure the PCV isn't just there for nothing and can be deleted.

How much oil are we talking, and where exactly is the oil gathering? A small amount of oil in the intake manifold is always normal.

The PCV is located on the intake driver side which has a hose that runs to the front of the intake under the TB. The hose from the passenger side valve cover is only a vent hose that runs to the TB. There isn't a PCV in that line. It is just a plastic connector that passes through the rubber grommet to vent the VC. So unless you removed the PCV from the driver side of the intake you still have the pcv hooked up.

Blue smoke could be a number of things, most commonly valve seals.

are you sure its not valve stem seals? does it smoke more on start up? have you actually found oil in side of your intake? or just assuming thats where the oil is comin from? usually when the intake mani gasket goes oil leaks out the back and runs down the block.

yes there is alot of oil in the intake. im not talking about the silicon part of the gasket. im talking about the gasket part of the gasket that might also cause a vacuum leak.
