Yeah definatly need to swap springs atleast. Might as well replace the lifters and pushrods while your in there. Stock length pushrods will work fine if you are running the 503 i believe.

Buddy of mine made 340whp/350wtq corrected on a mustang dyno on a hot cam with a dyno tune. I was looking at the cc503 or advanced inductions version of it. They say 350-365whp corrected through a 6spd. I would expect with Intake/long tubes/exhaust/tb/inj's/ fuel pump to put down at least 350whp through a 6spd.

What did you make when it was a 6 speed? I was thinking it was something similar?

It made 330whp with a 6speed on a Mustang Dyno. The 330whp with the auto was on a DynoJet I believe. Based on what other people dynoed on that Mustang Dyno it probably would have dynoed 350 with the 6 speed.

I would compliment it with some head work or a Yank SS3600 Stall and GM 3.73's
So headers now give 2x more power than cams?

Ahh, that explains it!

Yeah, Alvin has a Dynojet...

That's a strong CC503 car!

cc503 + good dyno tune with a Tech II + masterful headwork + little shave of the heads = > 365RWHP, not gonna get to 400 without taking it to 355c.i. NA.

gotta find & scan my dyno sheet to show you, properly complimented cc503 makes a nice long plateau of power above 5500RPM; mine stays above 355HP out to 6600RPM. Makes hellacious torque at 4200-6000RPM. Important to note that the head work and intake porting cost me $1600.00... Heads include (new) 1.94" intake with 5-angle and ridiculously **** seatwork and 1.56 exhaust, same way. That's right- 1.94" intake. You don't need 2.00 or 2.02. Ultra Pro Mag 1.6RRs, 7/16 studs. hardened PRs, raised guideplates.

Surely you don't think that 5 extra cubic inches are worth 35whp? Even going to a 383 (all things the same) won't get you to 400whp.

Absolutely not, but it would get me pretty close, I only need 23. But my car isn't typical of a cc503 car. Going to 383 would take my car above 400 but 400 is just a number, right? Real world, I'm extremely happy with the way it came out. But point taken...

There is absolutely no way that adding 5 cubic inches will give you 23HP.

not by itself, no, but in a car 'limited' by a cc503 c.i. is the only thing that will give any further gain w/out spray or forced induction, (along with some extra advance in the tables)...

and/or more head milling + .027 Caprice gaskets... a little more compression, a little more power.

point taken already...
