Oil pressure sensor...
Last year my oil pressure censor has started to crap out on me. as the car idles it jumps all over the place and when I accelerate it just jumps past the highest pressure mark and stays there. Where is this censor at on the motor? Is it easy to get to and am im assuming a parts store will have them available?

it is right behind the intake, you will need a special socket to take it out and put it in... the parts store will carry the socket and the oil pressure sender(the socket shouldn't cost over 10 dollars)

but when it goes to the top that normally doesn't mean it is maxed out , it means it has a bad connection. When its unplugged it stays at the top. Doesn't fall to 0 like you would think

I had it in a shop over last summer and they did some head work for me and regasketed the whole top end. It was doing this before I took it into the shop, however, and it acts the same afterward the work was done too-would this have been something they should have/could have noticed when the intake was off?

Sorry, it's no where you'll actually be able to see. Its on the block, tucked just behind the intake manifold. Im not sure, but it may not be accessible without removing the intake. Someone else might know for sure. Advance usually carries the sensor in stock, seems to work ok ($40 BWD brand). You definitely need a special oil pressure sensor socket 1-1/16. Believe me, nothing else will work. I'll find a pic and post it

Here's a pic of the sensor, with the intake manifold taken off.
I borrowed the pic from ls1 how to (manifold swap)... Hope no one objects.
