Default What wheels to go with?

So im really wanting rims... Ive always wanted a different set of rims besides the salad shooters but have always put my money else where.. I have looked up and down and have never found the exact wheel that i like... The car is med. quasar blue. I like many different themes and havent settled on an exact theme to go with.. I wanted to turn the car into an lt4 and run the grandsport theme with the hash marks and black zr1's maybe w/ or w/o the white stripe... I dont know if chrome would look good b/c it might be too bright for the car.. there are no appearance mods to the car on the outside besides blacked out tail lights... Also i would really like to go with a light wheel to cut out all the rotating mass most rims have.. i dont want something too flashy or too bland.. any ideas guys?.. I would like to do a staggered stance possibly. the car is more of a drag car/dd and thats the theme i would like to keep so the rim size would stay mostly under 18's im guessing.. for appearance mods i would like to go with a harwood cal hood and either a 96-97 ss or 98-02 ss wing.. any help would be appreciated.. i just cant find something i love..thanks in advance

I think the black zr1s would look good. You might want to check out the wheel and tire section for pics

IMO, solid black looks cheap, like you couldn't afford a nicer set of wheels. Everyone has them anymore. Now with a chrome lip and rivets black wheels can be nice.

For the quasar blue I'd stick with something chrome. There's no such thing as being "too bright" for your car.

IMO if you go with vette rims, stay away from C5-C6 rims, they look to blingy and out of place on our cars-especially ones with rivets and chrome. Beautiful wheels, yea, but once mated with the car, it looks so out of place, especially with the smaller LT1 brakes-don't go bigger than 17's.

Chrome C4 ZR1's would look very nice and would do nothing but compliment your awesome paint

Also, the Torque Thrust II's look great, but many people have them(there's a reason behind that tho )

Depending upon your budget, I'd also look into CCW rims-pricey, but hands down the best looking rims out there IMO. Also check out OEwheels, they are a sponsor on here and have fair prices and all sorts of GM style wheels.

I just saw a picture of an ls1 running a harwood hood today with firehawk chrome rims... what would you all think of those rims?.. i know to each his own.. but i think it would look good.. What about me wanting lighter rims like drag lights? Billet specialties makes a nice wheel, its a 17 in street light.. Torque thrust 2's do look nice but everyone has them.. so i would like to stay away from that round.. possibly.. maybe if i had some 315's on the back i might change my mind lol..

The firehawk rims look nice, but I've seen way too many chrome plated GM rims flake horribly on the inside of the rim-including Firehawk chromies. It makes them impossible to balance many times, and also just looks awful.

OE wheels are over played IMO. Not that they look bad, they're just too commoon. that's why I went with the street lites.

OE wheels are only really overdone on the internet...I have only seen a few sets of vette wheels on Fbody's on the street.

It's only when you get a bunch f Fbody lovers together on the net or at a car show/at the track you might see several with vette rims, otherwise in your day to day life they aren't like fart cans on 4 cylinders.
