How the hell do you figure hes throwing parts together? Have you read the whole thread?

If he was buying AFR 180cc's and a 306 it would be another story, but its not.

Got the motor in tonight, I sent the pcm and injectors off today for a base tune and a service/flow match. For those who have not dealt with fuel injector connection they are a great shop, very nice on the phone and they are a sponsor here so they hook us up with a deal if we mention ls1tech, the price break is substantial when you consider what they do I still have to put the radiator in and reassemble the interior but I think it is coming along nicely. It is going to be a couple of weeks before I have the injectors and pcm back but that will give me time to swap gears and triple check everything before start up. Hell for all I know it may take a couple weeks to get the block burped of coolant and the slave properly bled

Thanks everyone for your support

Well I have gone as far as I can go until I get my injectors and computer back...

Now I need to change the gears in the rear end due to the t56 swap but I am not sure if I should be trying to break in a motor and break in gears at the same time. I am thinking about just running on the 3.23s until i am confident that the rings are seated then changing the gears, breaking those in and then going to the dyno. Does that sound like a plan...how would you do it if you were me?? How is the clutch going to like gears that tall??

breaking in a new clutch is kinda annoying with 3.23's lol. A bigger gear is gunna be a lot easier on everything. I dident read everything, but 3.73's are what I'm gunna switch to. Do you have the m28 or m29 t56?

well you really gotta know what you have, your gears will be a lot different. For example, 3.73's will feel like 4.10's on an m29. All you have to know is what year your t56 was out of. The m29 was only in the 1993 fbodys. I have a 1993 with the m29 and i'm gunna do 3.73's, with my m29 will feel the same as 4.10's with an m28.

Nice to see that real men still do exist, haha. Very nice build!

What cam did you have in your cam only setup?

Looks good. I don't see any problems with breaking in an engine and gears at the same time. Take it easy for 500 miles and both should be covered.

I will ask why you went with such big injectors.

Can't wait to hear it run!

Hey JB, Can you give an estimate to about how much all of this has cost you up to this point?

oops I guess it is a mn6 then as it came out of a 96 camaro, I am going with 3.73 to keep my highway mileage and I think the gears will be a little short with 4.10s if this motor puts out what I hope it will

it is a Lunati Voodoo 60121 which is 219/227 @ .050 .545/.565 lift on 1.6 rockers

at 80% duty cycle (which is optimal) a 42lb injector can support ~540 flywheel horsepower, not saying this combo is going to make this much but it will give me a little room to grow

alot...roughly 6k in the motor, 1500 on the trans, another couple hundred on swap components pedals, shifter, connectors, etc. I still need a rear end and suspension so the price tag will continue to climb but that is where it stands right now...roughly

Well the parts just arrived that all but guarantee a shitty weekend I was on the fence about doing the gears now or wait but I am going to be waiting on injectors and pcm until next week I would imagine so I decided to go ahead with the gears and be done with it.
