March Engine Build!!!!! so guys/gals this is my engine build that i will be doing starting march tell me what you think and remember I ALL READY Bought PARTS.
lt1 383 with forged scat crank and 6' I-beams
5.4 forged flat top wesico pistons
LE2 heads with 918 beehives and the other stuff
XFI 280 comp cam
42lb green top svo
1.6 scorpions race rockers
.head gaskets are Bore: 4.040" Compressed Thickness: .051" to keep CR down to around 11:5-12:1
that's all i can think of right now...how do you think this will run. Your constructive bashing is needed may change up a little depending on answers

they must be tiny if he's using a .051 compressed hg to keep the compression in the 11.5-12:1 range. That's gotta be like a 48 cc head......especially with a 5.4cc dish piston (if I'm reading that right). Other than those numbers I don't see too many problems. I personally would have gone with a flat top with valve reliefs and the .040 cometic gasket with the LE2 (with a little more chamber volume) and made some decent NA power, and still keep the compression down.
sorry for the miss understanding they are 5.4 flat top valve reliefs.. i wanted to make sure it ran on pump gas with no problem

Verdad Gallardo according to this your SCR will be right at 12:1 if the pistons are .005 in the hole. Now that being said, instead of the XFI280, maybe talk with LE (since you already have his heads) and see what he says to make your goal at the tire. Chances are you're going to want to stall an A4 to have any kind of driveability. If you've got an M6 then slap a gear in it and you should be well on your way. Truthfully I think the cam is a little small. I understand you already have it, but with the stroker that cam will seem even smaller. I personally would go with a custom or even an GM847 (I'm partial to it, as I had one in my old car). With the better heads and more cubes it will definitely help to have a larger cam. This is just my personal opinion, but do what feels right, not only in your mind, but in your pocket book 
the real reason I went with the xfi 280 is because I want to get use to the power and likeable before I went bigger...this summer I will be getting a custom cam from LE for track time. yes the car is a m6 and I plan on going with some 373 soon as well
Personally, I'd build once rather than twice. Learning to handle the power is more of a discipline than a lesson. All it takes is a little less movement of the right foot. I'd go big the first time, that way you don't have to pull it out and spend all the extra $$$ in new gaskets on a new motor. Again just my opinion, but I like doing things once not twice.

I wouldn't go so thick on the head gasket(you would probably have better driveablity on pump gas with a tighter quench IE less propensity for detonation) even though it will add a little static compression bump? Most experts recommend SBC quench of .045 or less) I'm running .032 on my LT1.... pistons .005 in the hole and .027 cometics. Even with Static compression a little above 12.1:1 the engine has been doing fine on 91-93 octane for a couple of years (Its my daily driver and sees all kinds of weather and traffic conditions and when I get the chance I beat it like a rented mule)

people keep saying .051 are to big but stock are .050 but I'm thinking of going with the .045 if the .051 take to long... I just don't want a problem running pump gas in the car
