Will BBK Shorties be a direct fit to the stock exhaust? Thanks

Yep.

But the BBKs are notorious for poor plug access.

Direct fit

How soon do you want some? I could probably sell you mine that have been on my car for 7k miles on my 1997 Pontiac Trans Am during mid March when I'm back for spring break.

Why the bad plug access? So it would be a good idea to change them while I have it out then lol.

As for buying them I can wait till march np or even april just depends what you want for them I guess.

As long as egr/air is hooked up I should be ok. They just check for cats so I don't think the place of it would matter.

I have BBK shorties on my '95 formula...plug access isn't really that bad...it isn't a geo metro, but it's not "undoable" by any stretch of the imagination...did my plugs and wires in just a few hours with a buddy last year...wires are a bigger pain in the *** than plugs-just gotta find a shorter spark plug socket and yur good to go(I think the one I used was a GM socket)...

I can tell you that you can't do an OTVC conversion with the BBK shorties from first hand experience. Lesson learned.

I have these headers. Not the best choice but the Y pipe is a pretty nice piece. A shorter plug socket is required (I cut mine on my band saw) on number 7 plug for sure. The probably make a bit more horsepower than the stock manifolds but not nearly as much as long tubes. I imagine the long tubes will pick up at least 15 to 20 hp more than these but they also don't have the ground clearance issues which is why I'm using them. I honestly will consider a move to long tubes in the future however to get that extra power back.
