I just rebuilt my motor and now the oil pressure gauge is pegged at over 80. Tried grounding it out and it still stayed at 80. The one wire leading to the sending unit is still intact. Is it the gauge or the sending unit, and if its the gauge, how do I go about fixing that?

Turn the ignition key on. Connect a jumper wire between the connector harness and ground. The gauge should move back to the left and indicate low pressure. If it does, then the sensor is bad or the connection is poor. If it doesn't, it might be the gauge. Not sure if a repair procedure exists, but you might need to just replace it.
If the wiring is still good, you might want to hook up a mechanical gauge to verify the reading.
