Default Two problems with my headers...need advice

Problem #1) After install of my headers I have really bad vibration and noise inside the car. I look under the car and notice my headers are basically touching (not exactly sure what this area of my car is called). I did include pictures. Im wondering if this is the reason for the bad vibration and noise. And if so how can I fix it? Heres the picture ( I hope you can make out what Im showing it was kinda hard for me to get a good angle).

Problem #2) Between my headers and the headers gaskets on my passenger side I noticed liquid bubbling. Im thinking this is the reason Im getting backfiring from my car because of an exhaust leak. Plus the gaskets I used were garbage. For me to replace the gaskets do I have to remove all bolts from the headers on the driver and passenger side? and then some how slip the gaskets in? I don't see how I can pull on the headers and slip the gaskets in. Maybe I wrong?

That's the k-member that their rubbing on. Did you replace your motor mounts while doing the headers because odds are they need to be replaced

what brand headers are they and and are they hooked up to a y pipe mine made a noise like that from the y pipe hitting the frame under the pass seat. the bubbling is probably a bad gasket so replace that the back fire noise with the leak it will add to that but mostly it probably needs to be tuned now. hope that helps!

My money is on the engine mount as well. I had the same problem in the same exact spot on both sides. I took the time to cut that part of the k member and a year later when I pulled the engine the driver side mount was really bad gone. lol changed both to a polly and I have tons of clearance now. did not even need to grind the K member.

There LPP headers. I had the car tuned recently and he said it was an exhaust leak the tune didnt stop the problem..

How hard is it to replace the gaskets? Will I have to loosen the Y pipe as well to squeeze that gasket it?

You may not have to take the headers off the engine. You can do the driver side from the front and just remove the intermidiate shaft from the rack and pinion. the passenger side, you may be able to do with just removing the starter. not reall sure about that though. I too have the LPP headers so new mounts should clear it good. If you have an engine lift with the happy hooker lt1 lifting plate it would help make it easier to get the mounts out. most guys use a block of wood and a jack under the crank hub.

since you have gaskets leaking, loosen the headers off the heads....take out all the bolts and jack the motor up to do your mounts, then when you lower it put your new gaskets in and slap the headers back on and you kill two birds with one stone....you should be able to leave the steering and y-pipe still hooked up and give you enough room to do anything you want.....granted I have access to a lift to make it really easy.....

I ordered LPPs from my TA, and the gaskets that came with it and the ones i bought blew within a week. I heard if you take manifold gaskets and double them up the gaskets seal well.

easy way to change gaskets is to take out all bolts but the front and very back one an just cut/slot the gasets on the two holes thats if you dont want to take the headers completly off
