Spark Plug Indexing...for you hard-core guys.

Hey guys,
I'm looking to head to the dyno next week to finally get my car tuned (AI heads/cam + all bolt-ons) by the guys at Second Street Speed. I'm going to switch (per my tuner) to a colder plug (TR6s) from the TR55s I have now.
My plugs in the car now were never indexed, so who knows where the gap is positioned. I'm going to index them before I get to the dyno.
My question is, where are you pointing the gap? Most people just point the gap between the intake and exhaust valves, but would it make more sense to point it towards one valve or the other? I know on a lower compression engine it wouldn't matter much, but I want to make sure I have ALL my bases covered. Also, if I'm being too **** about it, just tell me. Heh...
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a good post to put in Advanced Tech... Just throwing that out there. I'm not sure where you would want them pointed as the air/fuel comes our and swirls around the intake valve...

I have heard that it should be biased a bit towards the exhasut valve.
I would like to know more about indexing plugs. It seems like it cant hurt for those of us out there trying to squeeze every last bit out of our setups.

Few years ago I read a lot on this. It seems where the plug should point and IF it is worthwhile depends on the head being used. Never saw anything LT1 specific.
That makes sense to me, an old inefficient chamber could probably benefit more than a modern high efficiency one.

In theory you index the gap toward the intake valve. In practice you will probably not see any benefits for the effort. Electronics and fuel injection has gotten so efficient that there is nothing to gain here.
